Jesus Flores

 

Ku’uipo Koahou, originally from Kaneohe, Oahu, is a Southern California educator with two decades in the k12 public education system, having supported children at the elementary, middle, and high school levels. As an indigenous native Hawaiian, she is passionate in advocacy and voice for those that have little choice and even less representation. Ms. Koahou is also a doctoral student at the University of Redlands in the School of Education, Leadership in Educational Justice program.  Her research explores Freire’s model of Teachers as Cultural Workers, adaptation pedagogy, as well as meaning-making for English Language Learners. Currently, a site administrator at a Southern California Title 1 middle school, she utilizes research-based theorem to best support a high-percentage of English-language Learners. Ms. Koahou received her master’s degree in education from California Baptist University and her bachelors of science in business from California Polytechnic University, Pomona.
