Angel Romero

Born in El Salvador and raised in Los Angeles, Angel Romero is a nine-year veteran educator committed to transforming the educational landscape for at-promise students so they may live self-actualized lives. He is currently pursuing an Ed.D. in Educational Leadership with a concentration in Leading Instructional Change from USC’s Rossier School of Education. Angel serves as Dean of Instruction for Bright Star Schools where he supports teachers in growing their instructional practices in order to best support students. His groundbreaking book, This Foo: 7 Lessons for Burros and Bag Chaser$, provides a culturally responsive framework to build literacy and life skills in support of youth often neglected and left behind by traditional educational models. 

 

Angel leverages the soul-piercing power of storytelling in conjunction with research-driven pedagogical strategies to get academic results. His mission is to disrupt deficit-based narratives and provide tools and strategies to empower communities that activate generational brilliance. He specializes in transformational literacy, multilingual learner support, instructional coaching, and keynote addresses.
