Dr. Victor Rios and his team will discuss how to reflect on the re-opening of schools and how to continue to design school contexts that are culturally responsive, emotionally-relevant, and anti-racist.
The CAREOPENING team will share practical strategies that help educators create a culture of care, community, and embrace and that helps at-promise students succeed. Speakers will underline the importance of emotional support in the lives of marginalized students and demonstrate practical strategies and virtual tools for implementing this support in the back-to-school transition. Participants will leave with insights on how to engage with the unique context of school re-openings and inherent inequities that invite care, community, and embrace.
