Mr Ong Lu King
Singapore Consul-General for Shanghai

It is my great pleasure to witness the occasion of the SCHOLAR™  Collaboration Agreement Signing Ceremony between Shanghai Professional Examinations Center and Education & Examinations International (EEI), whose Asia-Pacific HQ is based in Singapore.     This development sets yet another milestone in the long-standing Sino-Singapore bilateral co-operation.

SCHOLAR™  International Examination in IT & Business Administration not only sets a common standard in professional training, but also provides a cost-effective fast track to further overseas studies for Chinese students.

EEI’s SCHOLAR™   Regional  Centres operating  in different parts of the world make multi-lateral transfer of students across international boundaries a genuine possibility.  As such, I look forward to seeing foreign students transferring SCHOLAR™  credits into Chinese institutions in the not too long future.

Dr John Pang, CEO (Asia-Pacific)
Education & Examinations International

EEI sees the world as one big family united by mutual understanding and the sharing of knowledge.  As such, the promotion of international understanding and the proliferation of educational opportunities are essential to world unification.

EEI aspires to realise its vision by facilitating the connectivity between academic institutions across international boundaries.

I am very thankful to our partners in the State Administration of Foreign Experts Affairs in Beijing who share our vision, and the Shanghai Professional Examinations Center which provides the vehicle to turn this vision into a practical reality.

The very fact that this occasion is filled with well wishes from all over the world and attended by many distinguished guests, is a credential of our belief and ideal itself.

I thank you.

Rex Wilton, Chairman
SCHOLAR™ International Examining Board

On the occasion of the launch of the SCHOLAR™  scheme in collaboration with Shanghai Professional Examinations Center, it is my great pleasure to contribute a few words to this magazine.

In the long period of time during which I have worked  with Dr. Pang,  my  admiration for his vision has grown steadily.  Never more so than  when he first shared with me his plans for this greatenterprise.  I have always been proud to be associated  with him in our  work  in  China  and  to be able to share in this moment is a very special  privilege.    For  him,  I  know,  it is both exciting  and  rewarding  to have  embarked  on such an important joint venture and I am highly delighted to be able to contribute in some measure to what I believe will be a very important project.

As Chairman of the International Examining Board heading a team of consultant examiners,   I hope to be able to continue to contribute to the spread of the scheme in China and to help to build that very important bridge between the academic worlds of China and the West.

The University of Sunderland is delighted to be involved with the SCHOLAR  programme.

We welcome any initiative that gives Chinese students access to international education, but at the same time makes full recognition of the importance of their own education in China.

We believe that SCHOLAR  will be an important addition to the range of international education projects in China.  We wish it every success

Campus President (Rapid City & On-line)
National American University, U.S.A.

I would like to congratulate and commend EEI and the China State Administration of Foreign Experts Affairs (SAFEA) on the development and introduction of the SCHOLAR   System in China.  As our global community grows closer together each day, the need to better integrate education systems across traditional boundaries becomes essential.  The SCHOLAR  System boldly provides Chinese students the assurance of a seamless, high quality, global education experience.  By encompassing a full system of quality curriculum, language training, examination oversight, credit transferability and many other essential features, the SCHOLAR™ System has taken the lead in bridging the gap that has previously existed in international education collaborative programs.

National American University is very proud to have the opportunity to work hand in hand with EEI and SAFEA in providing opportunities for Chinese citizens to participate in degree programs through National American University as well as other American Universities.

The partnership between EEI and the Shanghai Professional Examinations Center  marks  the  official  take-off  of  the SCHOLAR™ System in China.  May I take this opportunity to wish SCHOLAR™ all the best and every success in the future.

Wilhelm Buckwar
EEI Chief Representative for the European Union

It is my great pleasure to congratulate Dr John Pang on the launch of the SCHOLAR  scheme in collaboration with Shanghai Professional Examinations Center.

The rapid progress witnessed in China has demonstrated the need to integrate China into the global environment.  It is crucial for China and the global community to achieve a harmonised understanding, not only in political and economical terms but also from the social and cultural point of view.

With a long-standing background in industry, I strongly support the SCHOLAR  scheme and its concept and aim to build the bridge between China and the Western world.  As the Chief Representative of EEI for the European Union, I hope to contribute to the expansion of this scheme in China and Europe through my experience from building business collaborations between Chinese and European  companies for nearly two decades.

OTA University (Berlin and Brandenburg), Germany

The launch of the SCHOLAR System in Shanghai is an important step in the development of student exchanges between China and other countries. I would like to congratulate EEI and its partners, the China State Administration of Foreign Experts Affairs (SAFEA) and Shanghai Professional Examinations Center, on this initiative.

In the international orientation of OTA University, student exchanges with China are particularly significant. Experiences of many years have taught my colleagues and myself that academic collaboration with China is not only very beneficial for all parties concerned but also makes an important contribution to the development of friendly international relations.

The SCHOLAR System facilitates the transfer of academic credits and strengthens the reliability and quality of academic exchanges. The English language study courses of OTA University e.g. in Business Administration are based on the  European Credit Transfer System ECTS. ECTS is particularly suited for effective co-operation with other international credit systems.

We are looking forward to a close and fruitful co-operation with EEI and her Chinese partners, and wish you every success in your work!
