What SCHOLARδ Stands For
SCHOLAR is the acronym for System of Credit HOnouring, Lodging And Referral which is designed to be a universal reference system for credit transfers. It provides a common benchmark for educational exchange between countries of differing cultures and practices, such as those between China and the western countries.
SCHOLAR consists of three components, namely, Credit
Honouring, Credit Lodging, and Credit Referral,
as shown below.
Credits are earned by a
SCHOLAR candidate passing an
examination in one of the prescribed examination modules.
Credit Lodging
Credits earned in the
afore-mentioned manner are lodged in a central
SCHOLAR data
base.
SCHOLAR is referenced by SCHOLAR partners (academic
institutions) world-wide for the purpose of credit transfer into degree
completion courses conducted by the respective institutions. Original transcripts may be sent to the
respective institutions at the request of
the candidates.
